FOR TRANSFORMATIONS IN LIFE

Grief and loss counselling

Do I need grief counselling? You might be wondering about these feelings you’re having. Grief is defined as “intense sorrow” which can occur during any transition, not just bereavement.

Accepting change is tough. If you’ve read this far, you’ve taken that all important first step. Well done. Even if this is as far as you get today, know that you’re not alone.

The uncertainty of a future different to the one you thought you’d have can bring up many emotions; I’m here to help you navigate your way through this unknown landscape you find yourself in. Feelings of loss can be overwhelming. It could be loss of identity, loss of career or loss of a relationship. Whatever it is, and whether it’s visible or not, know that it is valid. You are worthy of support.

I’m a qualified grief and loss therapist with a lived experience of being childless not by choice. In our sessions, I can offer you a safe place, an empathetic ear and strategies to help you find strength. I’ll help you reconnect with your inner self and rediscover your inner light.

I will sensitively guide you through your loss and grief, and specialise in supporting those of us who are ‘childless not by choice’ – a term used to capture those who wanted children but, for whatever reason, never got the chance. Being childless not by choice can trigger feelings of grief. This form of grief is also referred to as “disenfranchised grief” as it’s a unique challenge that isn’t always understood or validated by society as a whole. I’ve been where you are and want to help you develop strategies to cope with the emotional pain you may be feeling, so you can find new paths and ways to a fulfilled life with meaning and purpose.
