This a recording of a Zoom session I hosted on the 4th of December 2022, together with three incredible women, who are all childless not by choice.
You will see and hear:
Yvonne John, author of the book Dreaming of the Life Unlived: Intimate Stories and Portraits of Women Without Children. A trainee counsellor and a passionate advocate for inclusivity for black women and women of colour in the cultural narrative of childlessness.
Lauren De Vere, an inspirational woman who has hosted many workshops for childless women. she now describes herself as: a childless woman in my mid life/elderhood and now thriving.
Sarah Lawrence, founder of After the Storm, a practice for person-centred counselling and coaching, facilitator of workshops for childless women and co-host of the @fullstoppodcast
These women are are also dear friends of mine and all four of us have experienced the grief and loss of our dreams of motherhood and big family celebrations and have since found different ways to cope.
During this session we talked about how we are dealing with the holiday season, how we are celebrating ourselves, creating new traditions and how to safeguard our shine throughout this time of year.
